M7 Group’s company profile, history, leadership and strategy for the future.
M7 Group makes solid progress on hybrid TV roll-out The European television landscape is rapidly changing. Viewers increasingly want to watch programs when it fits their time schedule. Moreover, they want to be able to watch programs at any place and via any screen: not just the big one, but also via mobile devices or PC. M7 is meeting these new consumer demands with the introduction of the so-called hybrid viewing solution, combining traditional linear TV with the possibility to view programs at any time, time-shifted, on-demand and multiscreen viewing options.
Following a relaunch of the TV Everywhere platform in May last year, M7 Group has tripled the amount of devices using its TV Everywhere App and web portal. The hybrid boxes and the TV Everywhere Apps are seamlessly working together, allowing people to continue watching programs when switching from mobile device towards the big screen and vice versa, both for linear and non-linear viewing. Apart from Restart, Replay/catch-up and nPVR, M7 also provides a VOD platform including SVOD, TVOD and a Free VoD offering of hundreds of arthouse films.
M7 Group now serves over 3 million viewers via its pay TV platforms in various European countries: CanalDigitaal and Online.nl in the Netherlands, TV Vlaanderen in Flanders and TéléSAT in French speaking Belgium, HD Austria in Austria, Skylink for the Czech and Slovak markets and M7 Deutschland in Germany. Operating in various markets simultaneously allows M7 to create synergies in many areas: from the acquisition of content to the purchasing of settop boxes and satellite capacity.
