M7 Group – M7 Group’s TV Vlaanderen Launches DVB-T2 Pay Service Antenne TV

20-12-17

Luxembourg, 7 December 2017 – M7 Group SA, the leading Pan-European satellite Pay TV operator controlled by French Private Equity firm Astorg, announced that TV Vlaanderen launches DVB-T2 Pay Service, Antenne TV for Flanders and Brussels.

For €9.95 per month, the new Antenne TV offers 15 channels via DVB-T2. Antenne TV is distributed via Norkring’s network, which makes it possible to be available to everyone in Flanders and Brussels.

The offer consists of the most frequently viewed channels in Flanders by Medialaan (vtm, Q2, Vitaya, Caz, vtmKzoom, Kadet), SBS Belgium (4, VIJF, ZES), the Dutch public channels NPO 1, NPO 2 and NPO 3 and the French-language channels RTL-TVI, Club RTL and Plug RTL. “There has long been a growing demand for a simpler TV subscription with only the most popular channels at a competitive price,”said Yannick Altruy, Country Manager for Belgium at M7 Group.

“In addition, the TV offer on the air was limited to VRT’s free-to-air channels. We are therefore very pleased that with Antenne TV we are launching a competitive TV offer with all the major Flemish commercial channels, the Dutch NPO channels and the Walloon RTL channels.

According to Hans Troelstra, CEO of M7 Group, opting for digital TV over the air is a logical evolution in a growing mobile TV viewing market, an ideal addition to satellite TV: “With Antenne TV we want to capitalise on the current rise of mobile TV viewing. You do not need internet, cable or dish. That makes Antenne TV a compact product that you can use at home, or as a second connection in the bedroom, but that you can also take along at the same time on the campsite, on the boat, on the cot, etc.”.

Antenne TV offers a DVB-T2 antenna for €29 that works both indoors and outdoors. For a TV set with DVB-T2 tuner only a card reader (CI+ module for Antenne TV) is needed, which is available for €39. Viewers can also buy a combination package (CI+ module with decoder for DVB-T2) for a special introductory price of €99.
